As we are a conservation establishment, looking after the elephants is costly. Adult elephants can eat between 200-600 pounds, or 90-250 kilograms, of food a day. As herbivores, elephants consume grasses, tree foliage, bark, twigs, and other vegetation daily. All food that is given to the elephants here is farmed locally and naturally. Elephants can also drink up to 50 gallons, or 200 liters, of water a day. The water that is given to the elephants is taken from the local flowing river and collected rainwater.

Our staff is highly trained in animal care and works very hard to keep the elephants as happy as they can be without the use of binding chains, intense physical punishment, or any other inhumane methods.
